The church is situated right in the city center between Market Square and Beethovenhaus. ‘Namen-Jesu-Kirche’ was built from 1686 to 1717 to serve the Jesuit fraternity in Bonn and is important historical and artistic evidence of the Jesuit-baroque style today. Between 1877 and 1934, the church was the center for the spiritual life of the Old Catholic congregation in the city. In 2011, ‘Namen-Jesu-Kirche’ was refurbished by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and handed over to the ‘Namen-Jesu’ Foundation. Since 2012, the church is an Episcopal Church of the Old Catholics in Germany.
